There are no physical or mental limits, nor absurd prejudices, in the way Joan Capó, aka Discontrol, enjoys, understands, and creates music. Quite the opposite. With him, we always have the feeling that the best is yet to be discovered and to come.

Both in his DJ sets and his productions, this young Mallorcan artist (based in Barcelona) masterfully synergizes cutting-edge electronic sounds with styles—such as rock or indie—without which Discontrol wouldn’t be what it is. One of his main virtues, the one that adds the most value, is his ability to capture that sweet rebellion of the past in his techno, transformed into synthetic happiness.

His world is techno, but seen from different perspectives, musical approaches, and subgenres. In fact, he moves effortlessly between industrial electro-techno and the more club-oriented side—melodic, sophisticated, and highly danceable—of the genre born in Detroit. He enjoys mixing in the purest Balearic style, always seamlessly blending organic emotions—with pop and rock influences—over melodic techno beats designed to move and touch us. And all of this is topped off with impeccable production, which, the louder it plays, the deeper it reaches.
