JIMENA AMARILLO

“Shameless cheesy pop”. This is Jimena Amarillo in her own words, an artist whose simplicity and honesty has won us over (also C. Tangana, who named Jimena as of his most admired artists right now). At only 20 years old, she sings to romanticism bluntly and straight to the heart, in a time when being a poser rules.

Jimena Amarillo stands out within the up-and-coming Spanish pop scene made by young, self-sufficient and spontaneous people who just naturally mix influences and genres. In Cómo decirte, mi amor(2021), her first album, she told us about her joys, sorrows and infatuations with an engaging empathy. We continue to identify with her stories on the EP Mientras ando (2022), confirming that we won’t forget Jimena’s show at our festival.
