“Garbage does not exist, what exist is waste that could be better used. Everything can be transformed into art, it is just a matter of organizing ourselves and together looking for a creative solution to make waste useful. “

This was the proactive message full of hope that has been transmitted to us today by the ProArtso Association.
Today we presented the three giant art sculptures of the 3R Project environmental project – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The spectacular pieces, made by the Proartso Association with plastic material from the cleaning of beaches, were exhibited by the Mallorca Live Festival on the beach of Magaluf, in front of the Hotel Calviá Beach within the activities of the Calvià Smart Island World Congress.
A seahorse, a sea turtle and an octopus are the three animal figures represented by the sculptures we have finished decorating this morning with a group of volunteers of all ages.

We want to thank the ProArtso association, promoter of the 3R Project, the City Council of Calvià, and all those who today have approached the sculptures, as well as those who had also participated in the cleaning from which the waste used was obtained. for the final decoration. Among them, the Son Caliu 5y6 neighborhood association, El Toro Rugby Club and the Ondine Association, as well as Palma Diving and the Son Matias Beach hotel.

The exhibition of the sculptures has been accompanied by an informative and awareness-raising action talk by Jorge Pineda Bruges to raise awareness about the correct management of waste and the preservation of the natural heritage in the coastal environment.

If you have you missed the opportunity to contemplate these original Art pieces, do not worry! The Mallorca Live Festival will take the traveling exhibition through different points of the island in order to culminate with an exhibition inside the festival site on the 12th and 13th of May.
