MAYA JANE COLES
Maya Janes Coles is not an ordinary DJ. Attracted by the diverse musical influences that sounded at her home, she began to write her own songs at the age of 13. By her 15 years old she had already become a hip hop producer, and by 16 she started experimenting with dub and electronic music. Throughout her career, Maya has played at car parks, deserts, beaches, fashion parties, hotels, museums such as MOMA or Tate Modern, and the most outstanding venues and festivals in the world; she has graced the covers of Mixmag, DJ Mag or Vicious and has reached millions and millions of plays of her albums and remixes.
In her records she writes, produces, mixes, arranges and performs each element of each song, even designs the artwork of her albums and finally, releases them through her own label named I/AM/ME. Her remixes go from Nicki Minaj’s or Ludacris’ hip hop to the most underground electronic by Bonobo or Tiga, and walking through pop and alternative from artists such as Sia, Sam Smith, Florence & The Machine or The XX. The house music she began to hit the London clubs with and that ultimately turn into her records Comfort and Take Flight is ready to shake Mallorca Live.
