DERBY MOTORETA’S BURRITO KACHIMBA

Hardly ever does a band burst onto the scene with such energy as Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba did. The single ‘El Salto del Gitano’ blew our minds – literally – on Friday, February 23, 2018 and, since then, these Sevillians have grown by leaps and bounds. A bunch of formidable singles, that huge self-titled debut LP and a trail of live shows that not only spread like wildfire but also lit fires wherever they went. The miracle was done and “kinkidelia”, its own cult with a pantheon of gods and goddesses between lysergic and loutish, was underway. A combo in a state of grace, ready to lead the umpteenth – and necessary – regeneration of Spanish rock.

A second album (Hilo Negro, 2021), collaborations with Rocío Márquez and Kiko Veneno, concerts and festivals around the world, a nomination for Best Song at the Goya Awards for the title song of Las leyes de la Frontera… DMBK have not stopped, but this impressive resume was already missing a visit to our festival. In 2024, kinkidelia will have an altar in Calvià and the Sevillians will disrupt the stage with their long-awaited new album.
