MARGARITA QUEBRADA
MARGARITA QUEBRADA
Margarita Quebrada is the trio made up by Nacho López, Mikel Cabanes and Guillermo Juan Montesinos. Founded in Valencia in 2019 with the firm intention of pursuing sounds based on the 80s, which they then transform and update giving them their own imprint, they caught our attention a year later with the EP Luces. A great adventure began with moments to highlight such as them being part of the tribute to Triángulo de Amor Bizarro’s Año santo album in 2021.
Their intense compositions dance between post-punk, synth pop and new wave, betting on dark tones and ranges, which are reflected in texts full of nostalgia and a careful conceptual image. The Valencian band decided to go further in the album they’ll be bringing to Mallorca Live Festival, Gas lágrima (2022). In it, they experiment and transform the sound they brought from Luces into a range of chaotic and melodramatic synthesizers, bathed in dark environments and pop lyrics of a generational nature influenced by experimental electronics and witch house, without leaving aside their most pop facet. The path continues with their latest release, the Aleación EP with Xenia.
