CYPRESS HILL

Saturday 13

A true legend of Latin hip-hop is coming to Mallorca. Cypress Hill, the influential Californian rap group that revolutionized the genre worldwide with its unique blend of Latin and underground influences, is part of the Mallorca Live 2026 lineup.

Formed in South Gate, Los Angeles in 1988 by B-Real, Sen Dog, and DJ Muggs, Cypress Hill burst onto the scene in 1991 with a self-titled debut album that included hits like “How I Could Just Kill a Man.” But it was their second album, Black Sunday (1993), that made history, propelling the band to number one on the Billboard 200 and going triple platinum in the United States—a landmark achievement as they were the first Latin hip-hop group to reach such heights. The addition of their fourth member, Bobo, brought a passion and precision to their use of percussion when creating songs that have left an indelible mark on the genre and helped pave the way for rappers to use Spanish in their rhymes. More than 30 years since their debut, after performing all over the world, selling more than nine million albums, receiving three Grammy Award nominations and earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Cypress Hill knew they still had a lot to offer; in 2022 they released their tenth album, Back in Black, a return to their roots for a band in top form that connects several generations.
