DEPRESIÓN SONORA
Saturday 13

Marcos Crespo was born in Vallecas (Madrid) in 1997, and this biographical detail is no mere whim. The songs he performs under the name Depresión Sonora explore the anxieties of a twenty-something from the outskirts of Madrid as he navigates the emotional turmoil of this stage of life. Musically, he draws on the post-punk of past decades, but his lyrics offer a snapshot of a present that is his own and that of an entire generation: weary, anxious, and relentlessly driven toward hyper-productivity. Those who haven’t grown up in this context of digital dominance and economic recessions might find it a bit harder to grasp, but they’ll still be able to enjoy his performance at Mallorca Live.
It was in the fateful year of 2020 that Marcos, locked in his room, dedicated himself to doing everything while nothing was happening outside. This situation marked the introspective character of his now-legendary self-titled EP. The Madrid artist began to reveal his talents, and it was only a matter of time before the rest of the world took notice. After definitively establishing himself with his first LP, El arte de morir muy despacio (2022), it was clear that Marcos was leading a generation of musicians who operate by their own rules and their non-negotiable artistic and emotional principles. An acclaimed and constantly growing career, filling venues and performing at festivals like Coachella, Primavera Sound, and Vive Latino, opens a new and exciting chapter with his second album, Los Perros No Entienden Internet (2025), and continues to provide the soundtrack for a generation.
