STANDSTILL

Friday 12

“Romper un silencio así no tiene perdón…” (“Breaking such a silence is unforgivable…”) except when we’re talking about ending Standstill’s nine-year silence. Catalan band Standstill’s comeback was one of the events of 2024, a catharsis full of emotion and beauty matured during a hiatus of almost a decade. In festivals and venues across the country, Enric Montefusco, Ricky Falkner, Piti Elvira, and Ricky Lavado discovered, first with surprise and then with tremendous emotion, that their impact is much deeper than they ever imagined.

Standstill marked a milestone in Spanish music, forged through albums like critically acclaimed Vivalaguerra, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026, and the band is celebrating it in the best way they know how: on stage. With their return, Standstill can visit the festival, and they do so commemorating the intimate epic and existential poetry of absolute anthems like ‘¿Por qué me llamas a estas horas?’ o ‘La mirada de los mil metros’.
